Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American Sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and works as a SportsCenter anchor for news. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been for a long time, starting at the age of nine. The ability to speak two languages allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as an reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she moved to Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Covering stories on the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of the border, she served as a reporter for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for news at 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English as well as an anchor for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Then she became the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her more responsibility. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. In addition she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. In similar roles on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born on the 22nd of November in 1985. She is older than her sister. The family moved to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Then, shortly afterward they separated, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta spent the time at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed an offer to work. At the time of her senior year in high school and yet having a clear vision of about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta visited the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. The result was that she enjoyed the university, and the university had the program she desired. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the university. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of the class, established an ongoing relationship with the student. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
